multimedia works
Initially a hobby, my interest in photography and videography quickly evolved into something more. It all began with capturing my daughters playing water polo, using just a camera and a few lenses. As I delved deeper into photography I started working with videography. With that I quickly realized the importance of learning how to do photo and video editing.
Photography is not my primary source of income. I now work as an Anti-Money Laundering Analyst at a bank in Pittsburgh. Before this, I spent 25 years in the US Navy. This helped me with acquiring valuable skills for organizing photo shoots and managing my time effectively. Although I find joy in photography and videography, video editing is what ties everything together. I started off with programs that were free online, then eventually transitioned to the Adobe Suite. Once I started that it met and exceeded my editing needs. This shift has reinforced the necessity of maintaining my current job that supports my hobby. If I didn’t have this job the costs can be significant.
The satisfaction of the client upon receiving the final video greatly fuels my enthusiasm for multimedia. Each photo and video I create adds to a larger narrative. This is for an individual, a family, or a business. Delving deeper into photography, I found that integrating drones into my videos opens up new avenue for storytelling.
At first, I had some doubts about the financial aspect. Now, I am dedicated to pursuing my passion. My wife jokingly refers to this as my “addiction.” I enjoy the relaxation of adjusting camera settings on the spot. The challenge excites me. As I expand my experience, my photography and videography skills improve. I am excited to progress further and enhance my mastery of this art to the best of my ability.
